      <image:title>Portfolio - Sweet Child - A Little Perspective.</image:title>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Sweet Child - Progress…</image:title>
<image:caption>As we worked, we would lay out the tiny pieces on the pattern to keep track of them. Once again, the penny gives you an idea of how small and intricate this design is.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Sweet Child - Before assembly...</image:title>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Silent History - Just a little closer.</image:title>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Silent History - Hand-Carved.</image:title>
<image:caption>All of the designs were carved into the glass by hand. After that, a thin application of paint made the areas stand out just a little bit more. As a side note, you can see a little bit of the Egyptian Blue by the eye socket here.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In Mobile, Alabama we stumbled across a company that was throwing all of their broken tempered glass in the trash. Since it couldn’t be recycled, this seemed like such a shame. We gathered up a big tub of it to take back to the studio to experiment with. These vessels are what we came up with.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The “Greek key” was laid out with lots of cut strips of glass that was tack fused in a kiln. Then this was brought up to temperature in the glass blowing studio before being pulled out into a really long rod of glass. After pulling, the rod is cut into pieces to reveal the pattern within.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - The Balance of Life - Results of firing...</image:title>
<image:caption>One of our favorite parts of this piece is the way that the silver crackles when it is fired. The separation gives the appearance of a really rough texture even though it is housed under a smooth surface.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - The Balance of Life - View from the back...</image:title>
<image:caption>The base layer of clear shows off the silver. While not as colorful as the front, this side still has a lot of interest and character.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Coquille River Lighthouse - Merging of Elements…</image:title>
<image:caption>Just the lighthouse wasn’t quite enough. We incorporated in a historic map of the lighthouse and coastline to the North and South. On the very top layer of glass, powder-printing was used to give it a soft feel of grasses growing in the foreground.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Music Through the Ages - Merging two ideas...</image:title>
<image:caption>Both were screen-printed onto glass and then fired. The Bullseye Opaline glass was a wonderful background for giving the one half an off-white look while the black contrasted well with the white enamels.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Music Through the Ages - Two halves of a whole...</image:title>
<image:caption>The old and new fused together to create this piece. We settled on music, for both. An ancient instrument and then the more modern were complements that worked together to make a whole.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Mesmerizing - Floating Lines...</image:title>
<image:caption>The Bullseye glasses were layered with a lot of clear to make this illusion possible. Salmon, Coral Sunset, Opaline, and Clear gave it just the right amount of transparency while also giving the opaque lines the substance to almost stand on their own.</image:caption>
